Background:
 
HISTORY 

 

Green Forest Community Development, Inc. (GFCDC) was created by Greenforest Community Baptist Church in 1995 and granted its 501©3 in1996.  GFCDC is a private non-profit faith based community economic development corporation, governed by a board of directors consisting of residents of the community and business and civic leaders.  It was born out of a desire to work toward comprehensive community building.
 

 

MISSION STATEMENT
 
The mission of Greenforest Community Development Center is to provide job training for  those who have lost employment, or need to re-tool. 
 
in addition, the Joshua Ministry Impact Center will provide training to the homeless, prisoners re-entering society, and our youth. In addition, empowerment and networking for people through economic development, housing production, business and commercial development, health initiatives, social ministries, education and comprehensive prevention programs for persons of all ages with a focus on youth.
 
 

 

ORGANIZATIONAL GOALS
 
The Joshua Ministry Impact Center seeks to promote self-sufficiency in the low to moderate income community and continually implements programs that will ultimately result in freedom from all forms of public dependency. These goals are accomplished by empowering families by the provision of housing/business/commercial development, education, technical assistance, social/human services outreach and referrals, job training, and  life skill development training. In addition, provide job training for the unemployed, homeless, those re-entering society and youth.
